By encouraging reflection, questioning by oneself and others, cooperation, and by offering situations for using higher-order thinking, edublogs archive and support student and teacher learning. When blogging architecture grew more streamlined and teachers realized that blogs might be a useful online resource for teaching, edublogs exploded. In educational institutions, such as public schools and colleges, using blogs has become commonplace. Blogs can be helpful tools for communicating with parents, offering information to students, and exchanging knowledge and advice among coworkers. Blogs published by or for teachers, blogs kept for classroom instruction, and blogs discussing educational policy are a few examples that come to mind. Edubloggers are another name for bloggers who work in education.

Weblogs published by professors are primarily utilized as an extra channel of communication to communicate with students. Weblogs written by instructors often include information on the courses they are teaching, how the courses are managed, and general observations about how the students are doing in their studies.
Student weblogs are essentially learning or project weblogs that are written by students. A learning weblog is a learning journal that documents the learning experience, both the learning process and the content. Additionally, a weblog might represent the output of a subject or the learning process. The project progress and results are also documented in a project weblog, which is frequently written by a group of students.
